Tri Bry Builds On Demand Sales Enablement Solution for Alco Industries

Alco Industries, Cranbury, NJ, is a mid-sized importer of home accessories with a product catalog of over 11,000 items and supplier to several major retailers across the United States. The company has seen phenomenal growth over the past five years with revenues more then tripling.

As the business has grown so have the demands from their customers for more access to real time information and faster turn around on orders and quotes. Alco turned to Tri-Bry to develop a new on demand sales enablement solution which has drastically cut down on the time it takes their sales force to deliver quotes to customers.
The application also offers a self service quote feature for customers.

Putting What You Have to Work

Using the Alco's existing iSeries eServer, Tri-Bry built an application that allows its mobile sales force to deliver web-based quotes for their customers in a matter of minutes - on demand. Previously, Alco sales reps took more than two days to get accurate quotes back to customers. The old system involved manual building of quotes from Alco's product database and then was printed out and placed in a binder and shipped to the customer.

The new quote system delivers a rich graphical interface for the customer and the sales person through which they can see images and detailed descriptions of the item. The new system also features a self-service component for customers who can log on to Alco's website and build a quote themselves. Each customer gets a customized web-application with their special pricing and product catalog.

All Delivered Through New Web Portal


Alco also worked with Tri-Bry's design experts to create a new corporate web portal which would act as a delivery mechanism for these new applications. The design team also created a more interactive and visually appealing web presence for Alco which now acts as a showcase for their 11,000 products, as well as, the interface for all the web-based applications ensuring their look and feel matched the new website.
